Hello everyone, CrossFit Pyro would like to thank all of you for taking part in Pyromania I. It wouldn’t be what it was without you. You guys showed up, crushed the workouts and looks like everyone had a blast doing it. Less than a month ago, CrossFit Pyro was in a garage at our residence, this event was created to bring us all together, do something out of our comfort zone and push ourselves. As Pyro grew out of proportion, so has the event. Other boxes joined in, more gear was brought in and it became way more than the original intent. Remember that we named this event a “fitness festival” and not a competition and it was for a reason. Nothing wrong with competition but a festival was the intent that we were going for. Yes, we kept scores and ranked everyone but ultimately we wanted everyone to have fun more than anything and not worry too much about winning. It was unreal to see athletes doing stuff they thought never possible and did it on the spot. We had lots of people that never competed before. This was our first time organizing such an event and we learned quite a bit. Other point need mentioning is the my participation in the events. It was never my intent to record my scores but I performed the events like all of you guys simply by the need of being part of it and to test all the events just to see how it felt. This is all crucial information for learning and how to improve future programming and such. Pyromania I is only the beginning, we’re planning to do it every year and it will only get better.
If you took any pictures during the day, please share them and tag CrossFit Pyro, we’d love to see them. We had Leonora André taking pictures all day for us and from what we saw so far, they’re awesome, plus she’s putting together a wicked video of the events. We’ll be sharing once it’s ready.
If you have any feedback, please let us know. The only way we can improve is by hearing what you guys think.
Hopefully, we’ll see you all again next year.
